A woman is a full circle, and as the saying goes, “It’s hard to be a woman. You must think like a man, act like a lady, look like a young girl and work like a horse”.
From times known, women are equipped with the power to create, nurture and transform lives. She is dreamy and imaginative yet her patience and inner strength need no masculine compare. But when the life of a girl gets upgraded to that of a mistress and when she gets pre-occupied with the daily chores of routine, her priorities get streamlined to that of the family and her dreams remain to
be imaginary lines finished in space.

YGE

As rightly put across by American Philosopher and Psychologist John Dewey, “Education is not preparation for life, education is life itself.” It is with this realization that YGE or ‘Young Genius Education’ (https://younggeniusedu.com/about/) was conceptualized, envisaged and established in 2017 as the brain child of Mrs. Anupama Sandeep (https://younggeniusedu.com/anupama/), an HR Professional by qualification, an aspiring entrepreneur, a social educational activist, an organized trainer and mentor and also a certified career practitioner from the Australian Career Council and Indian Career Education Development Corporation. YGE focuses on providing quality education across streams and subjects without limitations of boundaries or confined spaces and within the comfort of one’s convenience.While the success of YGE gave us enough confidence to tide over greater heights, it also opened our eyes towards the broken career aspirations of many women who had it in them to make it big in life and to attain financial freedom, but were tagged to commitments to their families. The well-experienced and exposed team of YGE brainstormed on the opportunities that could be made open to these women without hampering the family harmony, and ‘Carisma’ was born. 

Carisma

As a social entrepreneurship firm, we have had multifarious initiatives, projects and programs towards the empowerment and uplift of women but it is Young Genius Education that opened the doors towards our realization that providing proper education and career options are the foundation to helping the needy in making her empowered and financially stable.
Statistically, our country still has so many underprivileged girls/women who have proper education and career options as very distant ambitions. The count of women who had to discontinue their career due to family commitments, pregnancy and other reasons is also on the high rise. Dependency arises from these reasons and hence, empowerment and financial freedom were serious matters of concern for many. The construct of ‘Carisma’ is intended to support and uplift the girls and women who are in need of education and career but lack proper back up for the same. Skill development workshops, self-sustaining project trainings, tie-ups with governmental and non-governmental organizations, motivational talks by successful and established women etc., are some of the initiatives of ‘Carisma’ towards our attempt to achieve the projected objectives. We also do recognize the contributions and support to the society rendered by many influential women like Dr. K. Vasuki IAS (District Collector,Thiruvananthapuram) and Smt. Dayabai (Social Activist).
To help the house-hold women earn an income, ‘Carisma’ initiated the book wrapping project and sought the help of ‘Kudumbasree Mission’ in its execution. Many a time, it becomes difficult and tiresome for the parents to do the wrapping of text books and note books of their children before the start of the academic year. This task was undertaken by our team and with the backup of proper hands-on training, the project was to collect the books from homes and deliver the beautifully wrapped books back in 3 days at a minimal cost. This was a project that won many accolades and appreciations in and around the district of Thiruvananthapuram and it provided a neat income for many house-locked women. ‘Jobs for Her’ was yet another initiative of ‘Carisma’ aimed at guiding and empowering those aspirants who had career breaks owing to various reasons. Our team consolidated and categorized the profiles of these career aspirants and routed them to the needy employers after carrying out the basic profile check and scrutiny. In a matter of few weeks, ‘Jobs For Her’ was accepted and taken to heart by many women who had career breaks and the testimonials received from many of our beneficiaries were the real booster fuel to gear up our activities to further dimensions. Now ‘Carisma’ has undertaken to educate 50 students including tribal students from across Kerala who are socially and financially backward and is on to the project of providing livelihood means and trainings to 10 widows and their children. ‘Earn While You Learn’ is a youth empowerment project of Govt. of Kerala which ‘Carisma’ has tied up with which provides earning opportunities to students that include poster making, content writing, video making, compering, driving etc. ‘Carisma’ also carries out a series of workshops and training programs with regard to menstrual hygiene awareness, career counseling, entrepreneurial support programs etc.
